Would You Like To Know Jesus Chris Personally As YOUR Living Saviour & LORD?

How strange this might sound, it’s possible! Jesus longs for a personal relationship with you so much that He has done everything necessary to make that possible. You need to understand why He had to die upon the cross and why His death and resurrection are the only hope for mankind. The choice is yours now, Jesus said:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
John 14:6

These four points explain how you can enter into a personal relationship with God and experience the life for which you were created.

1. God loves you and created you to know Him personally.

God loves you
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

God wants you to know him
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” John 17:3

Why do you think most people don’t know God personally?

2. We are separated from God by our sin, so we cannot know Him or experience His love.

What is sin?
We were created to live in a relationship with God but we rejected Him and the relationship was broken. This rejection of God and the building of our lives around anything else is what the Bible calls sin. We show this attitude by being selfish towards others, openly disobeying God or by simply ignoring Him.

Everyone is sinful
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23

Sin has consequences
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

We are all guilty before God and will be judged for our sin. The punishment for this sin is eternal separation from God. This is what the Bible calls hell. (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9)

God is perfect and we are sinful. There is a great gap between us and God because of our sin. Something is missing in our lives that nothing else – relationships, money, work or health – can satisfy. We may try to bridge this gap through doing good, helping others or following a religion. But all our efforts fail because they can”t deal with the problem of sin.

The third point provides the only solution to this problem…

3. Jesus Christ is God’s only solution for our sin.

Through Him alone we can know God and experience His love and forgiveness.

“Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:” Colossians 1:15

Jesus died in our place
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God,” 1 Peter 3:18a

Jesus rose from the dead, He’s alive!
“To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:” Acts 1:3

Jesus bridges the gap

His resurrection proved that He was God and that He had suffered God’s punishment in our place.

Jesus is the only way to God
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6

Although we deserve to be cut off from God forever, in His love God sent Jesus to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross. Through Jesus, God has bridged the gap that separated us from Him, and provided a way for us to be forgiven and restored to relationship with Him.

It’s not enough just to know these facts…

4. We must each respond by asking Jesus to come into our lives.

To allow Jesus to come into our lives means that we will put God first instead of our own egos. It means that we trust that Jesus has come into our lives, that He has forgiven us our sins and that He will transform us in such a way that we will become the people He wants us to be.

We must receive Jesus Christ as our Savior
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” John 1:12

We Must Surrender Our Lives To Lord Jesus:

  • Agreeing with God that we are sinful and deciding to turn from our sin.
  • Trusting God to forgive us completely because Jesus died for our sin.
  • Choosing to follow Jesus; putting him first in our lives.

Jesus promises to come into our lives when we receive Him

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20

It”s not enough just to know or feel that this is true. We have a choice to make.

These circles illustrate two types of people and two ways of life.

I am on the throne

1. Self-centered person

Self is on the throne. Jesus is outside this person’s life. People like this have never received Jesus into their lives. They remain guilty and cut off from God by their sin.

Jesus on the Throne

2. Christ-focused person

Christ is on the throne. Self is following Jesus as Lord. People like this have received Christ into their lives. They have been forgiven and experience God’s love.

Which circle best describes you?
Which circle would you like to describe you?

Enter into a relationship with God, you must put your life in His hands. God is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart.

Here is a prayer you can pray to receive Jesus as Your LORD & Saviour

You can receive Jesus by faithful prayer… Praying is speaking with God, no more, no less. He knows you. It’s not the words that matter, but what you believe in your heart. An example of such a prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I need You. I know I’ve been arrogant and disobedient. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Saviour and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins. Please, lead me from now on. Change me, so I’ll become the person You want me to be. Thank You for hearing me and for answering my prayer by entering into my life. Amen.”

Does this prayer reflect what’s in your heart? If so, pray this prayer and trust in God’s promise. Jesus Christ will come into your life.
